PRESCOTT AND WASHINGTON SCHOOL TRAIL
The Washington Recreational Trail Committee (WRTC) is partnering with the Washington Watershed and Association (WLWA) and Prescott Memorial School to revitalize the school nature trail.
In 2014, the WLWA created a nature trail thru the woods leading to Little Medomak Brook behind the school for the use of the students. Teachers and 4H leaders used it as a place of exploration of the natural world and teaching. But in recent years, blowdowns and trail erosion has precluded its use.
In the fall of 2023, the Washington Recreational Trails Committee and volunteers cleared trails and rerouted where needed. But more work is needed for wet areas.
The Prescott And Washington School (PAWS) Trail was formed in June 2024. This summer we worked with the WLWA, and volunteers, to officially re-open the trail in August 2024. Kevin McKenzie, of Washington, built a kiosk for the PAWS Trail. We hope that you come and explore a hidden gem in Washington!

The Prescott Memorial School dedicated the PAWS trail to
Patricia Thibodeau:
Yesterday we celebrated the retirement of our beloved school custodian Patricia Thibodeau. Today will be her last day at Prescott Memorial School. She has been a kind, caring, and integral part of our school community for 37 years!
Yesterday we dedicated the new PAWS (Prescott and Washington School) trail behind the school to her. Several friends, family members, and past staff showed up for the ribbon cutting ceremony and to walk the trail together for the first time.
We will miss Patty SO much, but we know she will enjoy the extra time retirement will afford her to relax or go on adventures with her family. Thank you Patty for your service to the students and staff of Prescott Memorial School and the Washington community for the past 37 years "
