PRESCOTT MEMORIAL SCHOOL NATURE TRAIL

The Washington Recreational Trail Committee (WRTC) is partnering with the Washington Watershed and Association (WLWA) and Prescott Memorial School to revitalize the school nature trail.

In 2014, the WLWA created a nature trail thru the woods leading to Little Medomak Brook behind the school for the use of the students. Teachers and 4H leaders used it as a place of exploration of the natural world and teaching. But in recent years, blowdowns and trail erosion has precluded its use.

In the fall of 2023, the Washington Recreational Trails Committee and volunteers cleared trails and rerouted where needed. But more work is needed for wet areas; and kiosks need to be made.

We will continue to work with the WLWA and the school with a goal of having the trail open to the public this summer.
